D-44 Days: Preparing for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day

On June 6, the National D-Day Memorial expects 20,000 visitors to mark 75 years since the Allied invasion of Normandy. This major milestone offered the perfect opportunity for the Memorial to revitalize marketing efforts to reach visitors and sustain interest in the site beyond the commemoration year. Join on us on April 23 as Associate Marketing Director Angela Lynch discusses the Memorial’s promotional endeavor leading up to the historic anniversary.

Angela Hatcher Lynch is an award-winning former journalist turned communications professional. Her love for her late grandfather, a WWII veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge and received the Purple Heart, led her to tell the stories of other veterans during her television career. In 2014, Angela traveled to Normandy with Lynchburg D-Day veteran Bill Sisk to report on the 70th anniversary of Operation Overlord. She’ll commemorate D-Day’s 75th anniversary in Bedford, where she now serves as Associate Director of Marketing for the National D-Day Memorial Foundation.
