What was old is new again!

Like an old classic embraced by a new generation, one local company reaches back in time to refresh a previous brand. In January 2018, AREVA changed its name to Framatome, a name the company hadn’t used since 2006. Denise Woernle, VP of Communications, will share how the company embraced its heritage and its future as Framatome- a well-known brand that inspires respect not only in the industry but in the communities where they do business. She will share how her team met the challenge and successfully launched an old name as a new brand.

Our September speaker, Denise Woernle, is the Vice President of Communications at Framatome.  Woernle has more than 25 years of experience in communications including internal communication, media relations, public relations, marketing, community relations, crisis communication and issue management communication. She has developed comprehensive strategies for communication that align with business objectives, as well as specific, targeted communication plans for individual initiatives and programs. Having worked primarily for international companies, she is well-versed in effective communication and leadership in a multi-cultural environment.

She is committed to engaging in the community and is currently a member of the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance board. She has served in the past as a board member for the Education Foundation for Central Virginia Community College, Junior Achievement, and the United Way of Central Virginia.

Woernle earned a B.S. in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations from Liberty University where she graduated with honors. She also received professional accreditation through the International Association of Business Communicators in December 2010.
